Samford University Scholarships

Samford University offers seven different scholarships, the most notable being the Presidential Scholarship, which has the following benefits and eligibility requirements:

University of Alaska Anchorage Scholarships

Details: This scholarship is designed to support the nursing profession in Arizona by assisting students who are dedicated to working in the state.

Arizona Nurses Foundation (AzNF)/Brookline Scholarship

Benefits: Half-tuition scholarship

Eligibility:

• Must have a high school diploma
• Must have achieved minimum cumulative score of 75% on HESI Admission Assessment Exam, 74% on the vocabulary section, and 70% on the math section

Arizona State University Scholarships

Benefits: vary annually

Eligibility:

• Must have a 3.0 GPA
• Must be a Utah resident
• Must have completed one semester of nursing
• Must be involved in school’s chapter of the National Student Nurses Association
• Must submit personal narrative
• Must be an RN pursuing a BSN or graduate study

Details: May only receive scholarship twice.

University of Vermont College of Nursing and Health Sciences Scholarships

Nursing scholarships include:

Virginia Department of Health Nursing Scholarships

One scholarship offered is the Mary Marshall Nursing Scholarship. To be eligible, applicants must:

• Be enrolled in a baccalaureate degree program in nursing
• Be a U.S. Citizen
• Be a Virginia resident
• Attach one-page narrative summary
• Be enrolled in a Virginia school of nursing
• Hold a 2.5 GPA
• Demonstrate financial need

Washington State Nurses Foundation Scholarships

Benefits: $1,000

Eligibility:

• Must be preparing for a career as an RN in Washington State
• Must be enrolled in an approved BNS program
• Must have completed at least 12 credits of nursing
• Must be a Washington resident

Washington Center for Nurses Scholarships

Scholarships include:

• The Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association Promise of Nursing Undergraduate Scholarships
• WGU Washington Hispanic Nursing Scholarship

Students applying for the Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association Promise of Nursing Undergraduate Scholarships should be aware of these benefits and requirements:

Benefits: $1,000-$5,000 annually

Eligibility:

• Must be enrolled in a baccalaureate or mater’s nursing program
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Must demonstrate academic excellence
• Must demonstrate financial need
• Must show involvement in nursing student organizations

West Virginia Center for Nursing Scholarships

Benefits: $3,000 – $7,500 per academic year

Eligibility:

• Must be West Virginia resident
• Must be enrolled in a BSN program
• Must be in good academic standing
• Must be 50% completed with the nursing curriculum

Details: Recipients much agree to a Continued Employment Commitment program, ensuring that they will continue to work for a specified amount of time after the completion of the academic program.

Wisconsin Student Nurses Association Scholarships

Benefits: vary annually

Eligibility:

• Must be a member of WSNA
• Must be an undergraduate nursing student
• Must be dedicated to professionalism and academic achievement
• Must demonstrate financial need
